Preying Man-tis by Heather Dessel. The theme this year was Fertility 2.0, and of course the female mantis bites the head off the male during intercourse and devours her lover.

The Reno Star Cosmic Thistle under the full moon. The piece is by Mark Szulgit who, I believe, is not from Reno, but that's another story. It's made from scavenged steel which is from the city of Reno.
